Lord Shiva comes to Gokul for baby Krishna's glimpse!

Wherever Lord Krishna is there Lord Shiva also dwells and wherever Mahadev Shambhu is there Shree Hari also dwells.

In this self composed kirtan Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj explains a beautiful Leela of Lord Shiva coming to Gokul to get a glimpse of baby Krishna. Mother Yashoda is petrified by His looks and thus, refuses to grant Him the audience. Disappointed, Lord Shiva returns, but Shree Krishna is not happy with it. What does He do to fulfill His devotee's wish?!?

When Lord Krishna appeared in Gokula, Lord Shiva could not content himself. Dressed as a jogi , He went to Gokula and stood at the door of Nanda Baba's house asking to see the new-born.

जोगी शिव अरु मातु यशोमति, रहे दोउ बतराय l

Mother Yasoda eyed the wild looking jogi suspiciously and felt that his appearance would frighten the little baby. She refused to let Him see the boy.

Meanwhile Shiva sings outside ..“ O Mother! I want to see the face of your little child. In your cradle lies the supreme ruler of the universe. Show me His face O Mother!”

Yashoda looked outside and said “’ I won’t bring my child outside, you have snake wrapped around your neck that will frighten my child.”

Shiva said, “ O mother,your Kanaiya is deadly for death. He is Brahma of Brahma. How can he get frightened ? No one can harm him and he also cannot be frightened ? Moreover He also knows me.

ओ जोगी! क्यों बात बनावत, मो ते जो तेहि जाय l
सुनु मैया! यह लाल अजन्मा, ले अवतार सिधाय l

Maiya said," Why are you making stories?
Shiv said, “ Listen Maiya, the unborn God is incarnated as your son.

ओ जोगी! ले भीख जाहू घर, तोहिं उन्माद जनाय l
सुनु मैया! मोहिं भीख इहै चह, दे मोहिं लाल दिखाय l

Yashodaji said,” What are you talking ? My child is very small. Please don’t be so stubborn. I can give you whatever you want “.
Lord Shiva said, “ I don’t want anything else then the Darshan of your child."

शम्भु दरस हित बैठी यमुन तट, दृग-असुवन झारी लाय l
उत काहि ‘कहां कहां ‘ जनु लालहु, नैनन नीर बहाय l

Finally, maiya told Him,” If you want to curse me,do that but I cannot bring my child to you.”

Listening to maiya, Lord Shiva returned to the bank of Yamuna and sat over there. Tears started rolling down Lord Shiv’s cheeks.

Lord Krishna knew that His dear Sadashiva was eager to have His darshan. So right at that moment, He started crying very fiercely and loudly. Yasoda mata tried her best to pacify Him, but to no avail. She was deeply worried about the painful weeping of her son.

Then finally, thinking that the jogi baba might at least distract the child, she rushed to Him but Lord Shiv had already left the place. Somebody told her that the jogi is meditating on the bank of Yamuna. Maiya reached there hurriedly, prayed and requested Shiv to come to see the child and do something to pacify Him.

चलू मैया! ‘कृपालु’ कही जोगी, मिळत हंस्यो बलभाय ll

Lord Shiva and Maiya, came back to baby Krishna.

Baby Krishna and Lord Shiva saw each other. Both were extremely happy to have darshan of each other and immediately baby Krishna stopped crying.

There was divine twinkle in their eyes !!
