The Highest Grace - By Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj (English translation)


If someone asked you "What is the highest Grace of God" what would you say.

As such, God doesn't do anything except Grace. Killing a demon is a Grace since all demons killed by God went to Golok. Punishing a sinner is a Grace because of which he starts moving towards God. If there was no punishment, all of us would have gone astray.

So God cannot do anything but Grace. Only due to Grace He created the world, He took us out of His belly, brought us in this world and revealed the Vedas.

What a Grace it is that God can only be found by doing nothing or surrendering, not by doing Jap(repeating the name), Tap(austerities) or Yog. Just as when we were born, we did not do anything. At that time, our mothers did everything. As we started doing something, our mothers reduced doing something for us. When we started doing everything for ourselves, our mothers stopped doing anything for us.

So even if someone tries to write each Grace of God for ten million kalps, they will not end. But the highest form of Grace which Kripalu believes in is the following. God descended on earth and left but He continued to reside in the Name, Form, Qualities and Abodes with all His powers. In each Name that was give to Him according to His Leela, He resided Himself permanently. So you do not have to go to a temple or a mosque. I will always reside myself in this Name. And I will reside with all My Powers.

The second big Grace is that there is no law, discipline or condition in saying My Name. There are no conditions that one should take the Name of God after a bath. Even if you have all the waste on your body, say "Radhey Radhey". Do not fear. As Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu said that no dirt can make the property (Name, Qualities, Pastimes, Abodes, Saints) of God dirty. Instead, the dirty thing that comes in association with the property of God, that dirty thing will become pure. There are tough rules in doing a yagya for the demigods. There are tough rules in your job. But there are no conditions or rules in taking the Names of God and doing Bhakti. Such a mother is God.

So God has placed all His powers in His Name. You do not have to go to the temple to meet Him. If you are blind, even then You can do Bhakti unconditionally. You do not require any senses, you can do Bhakti with your mind which even a donkey has. So God is saying that you remember Him with your mind. Give your body to the world but Give your mind to Him. Just realize that the Names of God have all the powers of God. Think, believe, firm up your faith that what we say Radhey, Radhey Rani is actually sitting in it. Then you will drink the nectar. One day will come when you will not be able to utter "Radhey".

Ishton men Radha Krishna Govinda Radhey, Bhavon men madhurya shreshta bata dey. (Synopsis of a talk given by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj on January 17, 2011, in Bhakti Dham, Manghar, India, explaining this new kirtan verse.) The one who is worshiped (ishta) or the one who is served (sevya) is of many kinds. Some are even mayic or material, such as celestial gods and goddesses. These include Indra, Varuna, Kuber and others. Such ishtas are millions in number. By acquiring spiritual understanding through the teachings of a true Saint, we come to know that the worship of a material personality results in a material consequence. The word deva applies to both celestial beings and to supreme God. Kah paramo devah. Krishno ha vai paramam daivatam. This verse asks: Who is the greatest deva? Kaun duhave gaiya, Kanha topai kaun duhave gaiya? ( Oh Kanhaiya! Who is going to have You milk their cow?) Thakurji (little Krishna) used to go to the house of  Gopis .  This was a daily routine and He used to beg and plead,  “O  Gopi ! Have Me milk your cow.
